MOU Singed between IUST and IPS- Germany

 
Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the German company of inveni portum solutions (IPS) on September 8th, 2021. Utilizing the capacities of Silk Road Logistics Research Center (SLRC) in Chabahar will be amongst the top agreed agendas of the MoU.
Earlier the SLRC was established as a result of cooperation between IUST Chabahar Branch and the International University of Chabahar to meet the development requirements of the Makran Coasts through enhanced international cooperation.

In this meeting, Professor Zakeri, the IUST Chancellor emphasized the use of the IUST’s capacities for cooperation in the field of transportation and logistics, considering the international capabilities and skills of IPS as an opportunity for the exchange of knowledge and technology.

Dr Zakeri, emphasizing the social mission of the University for the Regional Development of Makran Coasts, invited IPS to cooperate on the following issues:
- Studying the justification plan of Chabahar logistics city according to the notification document of the logistics centers of the country,
- Studying the design requirements of Chabahar railway port,
- Transit load studies of East Chabahar-Sarakhs corridor,
Dr Joachim Zoergel, Managing Director of IPS, presented experiences and projects of the consulting company in international projects in the field of logistics, transportation, design, masterplans worth more than a billion USD including four projects in Iranian ports of Shahid Rajaee and Bushehr. Soon after Mr Hasanzadeh, the company's senior expert proposed the establishment of a corridor to transport food and humanitarian aids from Germany to Afghanistan through the port of Chabahar.

At the beginning of the meeting, IUST Vice-Chancellor for International Affairs presented the existing academic and research capacities of IUST and its international activities. Another speaker in this meeting was the head of IUST Chabahar International Campus who presented strategies and activities of his campus.
