Development of the library buildings and expanding collections of the central library has always been one of the major preoccupations of university authorities. The expansion of educational fields and research activities in IUST has faced the library with challenging requirements and obliged it to meet world's standards for libraries.

 In Order to achieve these goals, some activities have taken place, including but not limited to:

  · Rehabilitation of the library building in 2002, and opening the stack to the audience so they can access the collection directly,

  · Developing new facilities including Information Center, Scanning and Digitizing Facility, Audio-Visual Center, and IT Laboratory, to meet library standards,

  · Developing the library's organization chart and assigning the specialized library personnel according to the destined positions, and

  · Developing online and offline data banks.
