Control and Signaling Engineering
The aim of Control and Signaling Engineering program istraining professional engineers to cover industrial and scientific issues in two fields: control of systems and subsystems, and signaling and communication systems and their applications in railway transportation. Syllabuses of this program have been adjusted in a way that students are able to participate in the Electrical Engineering courses (control subfield) and learn the required expertise in the field of railway transportation (traffic control subjects, control systems and signaling systems) and meet the research and industry requirements in the field of rail transportation.
Requirements and needs:
Development of technology in various fields such as diesel-electric locomotives, high speed wagons, urban and intercity trains, urban and inter-city rail lines, control equipment and communications, and also high speed train national projects has created complicated problems in railway industry for management in our country.
The master program in Control and Signaling Engineering aims to train researchers and professionals who are capable to resolve technical problems of control and signaling and also be responsible for the research topics of railway industry. Main topics of the course will be about the following topics and relevant courses have been chosen accordingly:
• Automatic traffic control systems design and analysis.
• Signaling systems analysis and design.
• Control of Traction motors
• Control of various rolling stock subsystems.
