Abstract

The present paper will investigate the specific elements of architectural design based on Islamic beliefs, by taking Iranian Architectural values and vernacular climate design methods into consideration. This research will assess the spirit of experimental elements, created by the inhabitants, according to recent scientific findings. The main concentration will be on the physical design of rural areas in hot, arid and sunny regions of Iran in order to have active and healthy environments and to emphasize on transferring all these sustainable values to the future.

Abstract

  The traveling salesman problem is a well-known and important combinatorial optimization problem. The goal of this problem is to find the shortest Hamiltonian path that visits each city in a given list exactly once and then returns to the starting city. In this paper, for the first time, the shortest Hamiltonian path is achieved for 1071 Iranian cities. For solving this large-scale problem, two hybrid efficient and effective metaheuristic algorithms are developed. The simulated annealing and ant colony optimization algorithms are combined with the local search methods. To evaluate the proposed algorithms, the standard problems with different sizes are used. The algorithms parameters are tuned by design of experiments approach and the most appropriate values for the parameters are adjusted. The performance of the proposed algorithms is analyzed by quality of solution and CPU time measures. The results show high efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed algorithms .

Abstract

Disasters can cause many casualties and considerable destruction mainly because of ineffective preventive measures, incomplete preparedness, and weak relief logistics systems. After catastrophic events happen, quick and effective response is of great importance, so as to having an efficient logistic plan for distributing needed relief commodities efficiently and fairly among affected people. In this paper, we propose a fuzzy multi-objective, multi-modal, multi-commodity logistic model in emergency response to disaster occurrence, to assign limited resources equitably to the infected regions in a way to minimize transfer costs of commodities as well as distribution centers activation costs, and maximizing satisfied demand. In the proposed model, we have determined the optimal place of distribution centers among candidate points to receive people donations as well as sending and receiving different kinds of relief commodities. The amount of voluntary donations is not known precisely and is estimated with uncertainty, so we have used fuzzy parameters for them. The number of victims immediately after disaster is vague and is estimated indecisively though we have considered it as a fuzzy demand. A case study has been displayed to test the properties of the optimization problem that shows efficiency of this formulation in experiment.

Abstract

Practically, Islamic banking in Iran is not much different from conventional banking principles. Many paradigms of the commercial banking are considered in the Islamic-Iranian banking. Owing to the fact that asset and liability optimization is an important issue in the banking industry, the present paper investigates the balance sheet and income statement to constitute a structure for measuring each asset’s risk. The author uses the method of multiple objective programming to solve the problem of commercial bank's diversified pursuit of low risk and high profit by considering the so-called duration constraint. To test the proposed model, the data were collected from an Iranian commercial bank named Mellat bank from June 2009 to December 2016. The results suggest that Mellat bank, as the biggest private bank in Iran, should reform its asset-liability allocation to achieve the optimal level.
