Abstract

In nowadays world competitive market, on account of the development of electronic media and its influence on shortening distances, companies require some core competencies in order to be able to compete with numerous competitors in industry and sustain their situation in such a market. In addition companies achieve this target are those which their processes perform great and exploit from competitive price, quality, guarantee, etc. Since some parameters such as price and quality are so dependent on the performance of company supply chain management, so the results can highly impress the final price and quality of products. One of the main processes of supply chain management is supplier selection process which its accurate implementation can dramatically increase company competitiveness. In presented article two layers of suppliers have been considered as a chain of suppliers. First layer suppliers are evaluated by two groups of criteria which the first one encompasses criteria belongs to first layer suppliers features and the second group contains criteria belong to the characteristics of second layer suppliers. One of the criteria is the performance of second layer suppliers against environmental issues. Then the proposed approach is solved by a method combined of concepts of fuzzy set theory (FST) and linear programming (LP) which has been nourished by real data extracted from an engineering design and supplying parts company. At the end results reveal the high importance of considering second layer suppliers features as a criteria for selecting the best supplier.

Abstract

Abstract
 Purpose-The purpose of this paper is to review a sample of the literature relating to Interpretive Structural Modelling (ISM) and its deployment for modelling purposes in the area of supply chain management (SCM).
Design/methodology/approach- The literature is examined from the three perspectives. First, concept of ISM and examines ISM as modelling technique. Second, use of ISM by the various researchers in their research for modelling. Third, use of ISM for modelling in the area of supply chain management. Findings- ISM is a systematic application of some elementary graph theory in such a way that theoretical, conceptual and computational advantage are exploited to explain the complex pattern of conceptual relations among the variables. From the literature review, we can conclude that many researchers have used ISM for modelling the variables of: reverse logistics, vendor managed inventory, IT enabled supply chain management etc.
Research limitation/implications-The scope of this literature review is by design limited to ISM and it does not cover in investigating other modelling techniques. Literature review investigates sample of important and influential work in the area of application of ISM in the research.
Originality/Value-This study reviews a sample of recent and classic literature in this field and in doing so this paper provides some comprehensive base and clear guidance to researchers in developing, defining and presenting their research agenda for applying ISM methodology in a systematic and convincing manner.

Abstract

Increasing competition due to globalization, product diversity and technological breakthroughs stimulate independent firms to collaborate in a supply chain that allows gaining the mutual benefits. This requires a collective coordination framework and migration path to synchronize and to integrate the information systems and also organizational activities of the supply chain partners. However, existing research in supply chain integration has paid little attention in identifying and developing a migration path to know the present level of supply chain among the supply chain partners. Hence, the objective of this paper is to develop a framework for supply chain integration. In the proposed research, the informational, organizational and information technology integration is operationalized for the development of Supply Chain Integration framework for manufacturing industries. Further, this paper includes a comprehensive understanding of supply chain integration in general and specifically organizational, informational and IT integration. The developed framework for supply chain integration is validated by a pilot study and it helps the organizations to know the present level and provides a migration path to move to the next level of supply chain integration. This paper will add onto the contribution of authors who have ventured study in the area of supply chain integration.

Abstract

The construction industry is one of the high-demand industries related to business and projects. Robust materials management that is subject to inventory management is the highest factor to enhance the Supply chain management (SCM) performance that will indicate the project's success within the complexity of the project. This research aims to measure the performance of Supply Chain Management at PT Cahaya Amal Taqwa as a new housing developer who focuses on subsidized housing that faces a project delay because they have less data documentation and analysis from previous projects. The issue is most newcomer construction projects never analyze and measure their supply chain management (SCM) which leads them to confusion about the project improvement. The research uses the Supply Chain Operational Reference (SCOR) method to know how much inventory management impacts supply chain management performance and how it overcomes the issues.   Most studies only measure the SCM performance and show which aspects need to be developed without any scheme of solution offered. This research presents the scheme of improvement for the inventory model and provides forecasting for the whole SCM performance after the implementation of a new model of inventory management. The findings confirm that inventory management significantly impacts the whole supply chain management performance in the construction industry. The development of a solution system brought comprehensive results by classifying KPIs for inventory management and an interdependence network was created to define the new model of inventory system for the solution. This research proves that improving an aspect will impact significantly the whole SCM performance instead of improving KPIs one by one.
