Abstract

  In today’s extremely competitive markets it is crucial for companies to strategically position their brands, products and services relative to their competitors. With the emerging trend in internationalization of companies especially SME’s and the growing use of the Internet with this regard, great amount of attention has been turned to effective involvement of the Internet channel in the marketing mix of the companies. This has introduced a new term of market space (the Web) versus the traditional battleground of marketplace in which companies compete with each other. The growth of presence in the market space has been exponential, both in general and within specific industries.

  Thus bringing to attention the importance of Web presence and that it is crucial for companies to strategically regard competition in market space. It is important to understand that positioning on the Net is very different and requires its own set of strategies as part of the new marketing paradigm. This study goes towards addressing the need to understand and measure the nature of positioning of company Web sites on the Internet. The aim of the study is to introduce a statistical technique to compare the positioning of Web sites, in and across industries.

  With this regard a group of Web sites from the home appliances manufacturing industry was selected and the technique of correspondence analysis was applied to produce maps which can be studied and interpreted.

The results indicated that either based on company strategies or accidentally, these Web sites are positioned differently and may follow or affect different marketing policies of their owners. At the end, the implications of this technique for management and how it can be used by new home appliance manufacturers or those who want to compare their sites with the ones of their competitors, in order to benchmark and/or revise their policies and strategies have been discussed .

Abstract

This paper presents an overview of new approaches in rapid product development in production networks from design points of view. The manufacturing industries are changing their focus to global sourcing as a means to improve performance and enhance competitiveness. Some partnerships created with this strategy improve product development through collaborative design. With the advent of e-Commerce, a new set of collaborative applications integrated to the firms’ IT infrastructure allow a direct interaction between the firm and its suppliers, having an impact of negotiations. The globalization of the market necessitates the reduction of time-to-market, mainly due to shorter product life cycle. The computing and communication have become indispensable in every aspect of product development and design. The paper describes the network that directly links designer capabilities and with customers and manufacturing division. The networks focuses the three major forces that will affect the design community, namely, speed of decision, expansion of scope and degree of concurrency. Due to evolution of production networks, it has become possible to obtain the mass production within a key short time, using emerging technology that affect the speed and efficiency of product development using a pool of efficient designers and product managers.

Abstract

Cryptography is a well-known and well-researched topic for ages. Cryptography is the first line of defense for any networked system. By using Symmetric as well as Asymmetric Cryptography a lot of algorithms are developed. From the security point of view, Asymmetric Cryptography is more popular as security has been enhanced. RSA, DSA, ECS, DES, ECC and other algorithms have been developed for realizing Asymmetric Cryptosystem. These algorithms are primarily used for secure and reliable communication. These algorithms play a vital role in secure communication. Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) provides similar security having less key size among them. In the present paper, an improved MOD-ECDH has been proposed and the proposed algorithm has been compared with other various popular algorithms like ECDH, RSA, ECS has been demonstrated. A detail both empirical and simulation study of the algorithm of ECDH and MOD-ECDH has been depicted. From result analysis, it is evident that the proposed algorithm outperforms the other algorithms in point of processing time and key size.

Abstract

In today’s world, supply chains must adopt new and intelligent technologies to achieve objectives such as enhancing productivity and performance, competitiveness, and overcoming challenges. The Internet of Things (IoT), as an emerging and transformative technology, is considered one of the most significant technology areas today and has garnered considerable attention across various industries. However, the implementation of IoT at the supply chain (SC) level faces numerous challenges and obstacles, and its acceptance at this level requires specific drivers. To date, no specific classification has been provided for drivers at the SC level, and existing classifications for challenges also need to be reviewed and updated. Given the importance of IoT in SC management, a systematic review at this level is necessary. This article provides a systematic literature review to identify and classify the challenges and drivers of IoT at the SC level. The study reviewed articles published from 2004 to 2023, ultimately identifying and categorizing 92 challenges into 16 categories: financial, standards and government regulations, privacy and security, energy consumption, health issues, hardware and software issues, culture in the SC, lack of knowledge and awareness, poor IT management, coordination in the SC, perception, the Challenge of uncertainty, lack of Plan and Strategy, incompatibility with existing technology, supply Problems, and user acceptance and trust in technology. Additionally, the study identified 4 antecedent drivers (pressures, understanding the benefits, government regulations, government incentives) and 10 consequent drivers (production benefits, improving competitive advantage, inventory management, cost management, improving transparency, efficiency of information flow, development of responsiveness and agility, sustainable development, facilitation of management, and development of cooperation and coordination). Finally, a model for implementing IoT technology in the SC is presented. This model synthesizes the findings from the literature review and offers a practical roadmap for organizations seeking to leverage IoT in their supply chains. By addressing the identified challenges and utilizing the drivers, organizations can effectively integrate IoT technology, thereby enhancing the efficiency, transparency, and overall performance of their SC operations.

Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) emerged as a pivotal catalyst in shaping the landscape of Industrial Revolution 4.0. Its integration within the manufacturing sector holds transformative potential for enhancing productivity on the production shop floor. Real-time monitoring of production processes becomes feasible through the implementation of IoT. Allows companies to promptly assess whether production outcomes align with predetermined plans, facilitating agile adjustments for swift improvements. In the face of volatile consumer demand, the company can efficiently strategize planned production approaches in response to significant shifts in consumer needs. This study endeavours to design a robust real-time production monitoring system employing the Internet of Things paradigm. The system's architecture emphasizes embedding sensors within the production floor processes to discern product types. Subsequently, a web platform enables seamless dissemination of production data to all relevant components. By leveraging real-time monitoring capabilities through IoT, the company gains the agility to swiftly decide and adapt production strategies, especially amid dynamic shifts in consumer demand.
