Abstract: Health-care and good quality medication are becoming complex, difficult, and expensive due to the rise in the population. Low-cost, personal, and mobile medical devices are, therefore, highly desirable to expand the capability of current medical systems and technologies to the community level. In this regard, considerable attention is being addressed to flexible bioelectronic devices due to their facile interaction with human body. Stretchable and soft bioelectronic systems could be attached onto the human skin or tissue for the long-term health-care monitoring. Recently, various flexible bioelectronic devices have been demonstrated by the use of functional nanomaterials and polymeric substrates in the form of composite structures. This talk presents recent advances in the development of flexible bioelectronic devices for health-care related applications. We demonstrate that high performance bioelectronic skins can sense human physiological signals, diagnose early diseases, and treat diseases by smart drug delivery and release systems, all in real-time.
