Laboratory of Discrete Event Systems Analysis and Control (LDESAC)
The intellectual roots of this laboratory lie in the field of Discrete Event System control. The main objective of focus on this field is to introduce original scientific research and technology development to model and control discrete event systems subjected railway networks, underground transportation networks (metro), monorail, railway communication network, etc.
LDESAC researches emphasize on issues of integrated systematic control of railway network, signaling, communication, points, interlocking, track circuit and train recognition systems, fixed and moving blocks, ATO, ATP and ATC systems, smart train control, control and signaling of high speed trains and magnetic levitation trains (MAGLEV). Also, railway network analyses on features such as Headway, Deadlock freeness, Network Stability (un-necessity of re-programming), Safeness, Reachability, Livens, Reversibility, Persistency and Fairness may be conducted for railway industrials.

In this laboratory a variety of network analysis models such as Petri, cellular automata, Markov chain, etc. and supervisory control would be obtained and meanwhile designing logic and control of railway network, the correctness and fine functionality of logics and algorithms may be verified before implementation.
LDESAC is going to be a reference laboratory for national railway network, metro and other network such as communication network to guarantee the fine operational performance of logics and control algorithms.
