Introduction of the laboratory Engineering Analysis of Spatial Arrangement Factors (EASAF)
EASAF (Engineering Analysis of Spatial Arrangement Factors) Research Laboratory have been working since 2012. It consists of expert professors in related fields of studies and the PhD and Master students of urban and regional planning, working with the goal of conducting problem oriented researches on spatial issues in urban and regional scales. As the basis for such dynamic studies is the research and training activities in the field of spatial arrangement and planning, the precise analysis of stakeholders acting in the complex processes of production and transition of urban and regional spaces, is the nominated characteristic of these studies as well as method-based analysis of environmental factors. In this sense, the studies aim to propose the proper approaches for spatial arrangements in different scales ranging from urban design to urban and regional planning.
The most important mission of this laboratory is to work on the multidisciplinary nature of urban and regional planning, which aimes not only to improve the substantial academic issues, but also to ease the integration and synergy of diverse research interests of members. This goal is achieved by holding discursive sessions in which researchers present their work proceedings and also by introducing different research projects and empirical studies for active research subgroups in the laboratory. The progressive and forward-looking policies of the studies are followed by critiques and evaluations of other specialized researchers and colleagues.
This laboratory enriches spatial planning studies with continuous collaboration and communication with some international leading universities and research laboratories such as Francois-Rabelais University in France, university of Lausanne and university of Fryberg in Switzerland, who are the main colleagues of the laboratory and their detailed information is displayed in the website.
EASAF Research Laboratory aims to prepare the well-organized and motivational academic context, developed by advanced methodological and scientific instruments for experts and researchers in the fields of urbanism, environment, urban and regional landscape and space arrangements to improve the knowledge boundaries in professional research areas. We hope these goals would be achieved by grace of Allah and the best endeavors of all members.
