:: Project overview ::

The bridge on Km 564+840 is a stone masonry arch bridge that has been in service for about 75 years. The bridge consists of three spans of 11m, totaling a length of 56 meters. The bridge accomodates a single track with an allowable axle load of 20 tons, and an operational speed of 60 Km/h. The bridge is situated in a curved section of the track with a radius of 250 meters. Track's superstructure consists of U33 rails, steel sleeprs, and rigid fasteners.

Summary of results:

The bridge has been assessed in serviceability and ultimate limit states for three distinct loading scenarios. It is shown that eccentricity of center of compression exceeds allowable values. Moreover, assessing the bridge in ULS results in a loading factor of 2.43. Seismic assessment of bridge shows that retrofitting procedures are required, since bridge is not fit for neither longitudianl nor lateral earthquakes.
