Max Planck Society and the German Research Foundation (DFG) visited Iran University of Science and Technology Tehran, Sept 14, IUST – O n Monday 14th of September 2015 a delegation from Max Planck Society and DFG from Germany met the IUST Chancellor, the Board of Directors and a group of directors and heads of schools. The delegation consisted of Dr. Jörg Schneider, Director of Division of International Affairs of German Research Foundation (DFG) and Mr. Felix Kahle, Head of the Division of International Relations of Max Planck Society who was invited to Tehran by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology and the planning and implementation of their visit program was conducted by the IUST Office of International and Scientific Cooperation. The main program of the first day of the German delegation was meeting the Deputy Minister of Science, Research and Technology in International Affairs and Director of the Center of International Academic Cooperation of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology and visiting some universities and research centers. On the second day of their presence in the country, after visiting the Pardis Technology Park the delegation attended a session in IUST in order to visit and exchange views with IUST officials. The meeting was opened by Dr. Shahhosseini Director of International and Scientific Cooperation introducing the IUST participants and elaborating the long-term objectives of the IUST. Afterwards Dr. Barkhordari the IUST Chancellor welcomed guests and then Dr. Davaei, Vice-Chancellor for Research and Technology presented the activities of the University. After that Mr. Felix Kahle and Dr. Jörg Schneider explained Max Planck and the German Research Foundation (DFG) activities respectively. Following that the participants discussed about various scientific issues and different ways of cooperation with the Max Planck and the German Research Foundation. At the end of session, Dr. Erfanian and Dr. Taheri, introduced IUST Neural Technology Center, and Iran Institute of Composites. During all visits the German delegation was accompanied whether by the IUST Director of International and Scientific Cooperation or the Director of Public Relations. According to the program planned by IUST Office of International and Scientific Cooperation the German delegation visited University of Tehran, Sharif University of Technology, Islamic Azad university, Amir Kabir University of Technology, Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Research Center of Iran, and Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research (Jahade-e-Daneshgahi) during their three-day visit. |
